Beauty Tip

When applying concealer, we are always told to find a shade that is a shade lighter than our skin tone or to find a shade that matches our skin tone exactly.  I am not saying that this is bad advice, because it's not, it's just not the ONLY advice that I would give if you are trying to cover blemishes, hyperpigmentation, etc.

It is always wise to deal with the color of the imperfection first and then deal with matching the skin tone.
Ex:  If you have dark circles under the eyes (broken capillaries), the underlying color under that skin is Blue (more visible on lighter skin).  You want to cover the 'Blue' with its opposite color on the color wheel, 'Orange'.  Find a concealor with enough orange in it to cover your under eye situation and then cover that with a concealor that matches your skin tone.
